Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. 2 You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. 3 Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit...
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
" Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord.."
"So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh."
"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth.
"If you take one step at a time, if you don’t give up, eventually scripture tells us, you’ll reap the harvest. if you take one step, and don’t give up, eventually you will reap the harvest. That husband, that wife, that child you’ve been praying for, that aunt, that uncle, that grandmother, that boyfriend, that girlfriend, that friend, that co-worker; we can’t give up on them. That’s what it’s saying. Don’t give up on them. God is working. and if we put people in front of Jesus enough we’re going to see lives changed."
No matter how many obstacles we face and how far off the path we might get in our walk, we can always turn to Jesus in the middle of our struggle.
You can run the race a little while with the things that hinder you if you don’t push them aside, but at some point they’re going to be too heavy to carry. At some point if you don’t put it down and let God lift the load it’s going to be too heavy for you to carry.
